Last time I had my works critiqued, it was noted that my backgrounds "had no love", in comparison to my foregrounds (meaning that a lot of my backgrounds looked unfinished or sloppy). I confess, I can actually get quite lazy when I work on the backgrounds, especially anything that involves foliage. Reason being, I look for ways to avoid drawing the leaves...eventually I end up scribbling them in.
Hopefully my backgrounds will be improving/improved by the next critique session...
