FanExpo 2010, Part 4: Artist Alley, Conclusion

As I mentioned from the last FanExpo post, artist alley was an awesome place to hang out this year, mainly because of the following people;

The guys behind us...

...who are part of the creation of Dr. Holocaust (their webcomic) and featherweightcosplay.com. On the first day, their banner kept falling down, and they apologized profusely. Dude in the lab coat (I'm sorry, I can't remember your name!) totally knew where I got the name Cadaverific from.... :D

Our friends Matt Ingraham and Kat Taylor...

Matt is also a comic book artist, and currently works for Dave Sim (Cerebus). He was also filming stuff for Cerebus TV. Kat is his girlfriend, and she's awesome to hang out with.

Phil McClorey, across from us...

Phil is the writer for Furious Comics. He came by our table to check it out and also point out that his table mate, Shane, really liked one of my prints. We exchanged comic books (I purchased The Book of Methuselah) and artworks...

Shane Heron, Phil's table mate...

Shane, the artist of Awesome Marcus Ninja, came over and offered to draw something for free. I asked for a Blade drawing, with the words, "TEAM BLADE" written on it. The end result did not disappoint. Take that Twihards!

Elvis Deane, who was next to us...

Elvis is one of the guys behind Impossibilia Films, a studio with a mixture of live action and animated short films. He was also selling his book, Wilbur of Wumbaberry. Elvis and the other guys pulled a prank on another table mate, who's a massive Bif Naked fan. Anyway, she was really late the one day and somebody tweeted that Bif came to her table, then left.

Lezley Davidson was that table mate that got punked...

She is the artist/writer behind the webcomic Peeling Onions. She was so awesome that, while I was at the height of my caffine withdrawl suffering, she offered me some coffee.

Ian Herring, from the Kill Shakespeare table...

Ian is the Colourist for Kill Shakespeare, and works for Andy B. (see TCAF post). For awhile I've been helping them out with colour flatting. I think Ian was losing his voice in this doodle...

Jeff Young Sterling, who was right across from us...

Jeff is an illustrator and also works in graphic/character design. I was also impressed with his "sketchbook" books, printed by guerillaprinting.ca. Eventually, I bought one of his Avatar (Ang) prints...

The rest of the guys at the Kill Shakespeare table, Conor McCreery, Anthony Del Col, and Andy B. (the guy I'm blocking is Michael Cho!). I finally met the writers on the Friday when I came to bug Andy...

Other people I met - Ken Turner, who was also right next to us, Willow Dawson, Kalman Andrasofszky, Joe St. Pierre, and Joe Vriens. It was also great seeing the guys from the Durham Comics Guild, and Chris and Amy of Gum-Gum Pins N' Stickers.

Thus ends the Fan Expo 2010 saga.
