Last week I mentioned that I would never use black lead pencils for drawing comics ever again. I started out using the black lead in the panel pictured above, then switched to the blue pencils shortly after (thanks Andy!). It's also easier to work with after I scan the inks and work on them in Photoshop. I'm currently working on an old-school piece that I penciled with black lead and, already, am spending waaaaaay too much time "erasing" pencil lines off of the inked page.
(I need to improve on my grayscales.... -_-)
