Sunday Afternoon at Con-G

This past weekend I ended up checking out Con-G, an anime convention in Guelph. Regrettably, I missed Lar deSouza (Looking For Group, etc.)...but the con was still entertaining nonetheless. As usual, I lost myself in the dealer room, reading some manga (and coveting for some really awesome Bleach jewelery! Oh the shame...).

One of the highlights to any comic/anime con are of course, the cosplayers. In this sitting area, along with the cosplayers, were two adults, whom I'm guessing were anywhere in their 40s or 50s. Clearly, they weren't anime enthusiasts, as expressed by the man pictured below.

(Gaaaah! What am I doing here!?!)

I was curious to see what their artist's alley was like, and I was a bit surprised to see how small it was. I mean, I knew this was a small convention, but still...wasn't expecting just to see a row of tables at the back of the conference room (then again, this is coming from someone who's only been to Fan Expo, both as a fan and as an exhibitor).

Still, I think the organizers did a really good job putting this event together, and I wish them success in the future.
